Creating an Effective LEA Accountability Plan Aligned with ESSA Requirements

Description: A component of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires each Local Educational Agency (LEA) within a state to develop and implement an Accountability Plan that

  • Establishes long-terms goals and indicators of success.
  • Addresses racial and ethnic subgroups.
  • Provides measurements of interim progress toward meeting long-term goals.
  • Describes goals for improvement necessary to make significant progress in closing statewide proficiency gaps.

Kamm Solutions staff members have been supporting LEAs both nationally and internationally with strategic planning and comprehensive learning systems for multiple years with great success. In this program, we implement our proven practices to support districts, county offices of education, and charter schools in the creation and implementation of effective LEA Accountability Plans. Members of the Kamm Solutions team have a vast array experience and expertise to align your organizational goals and objectives with statewide compliance requirements to create a seamless and meaningful process that positively impacts student learning.

For California: As part of California’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), all Local Educational Agencies are required to prepare a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) describing how the school intends to meet annual goals for students. This strategic plan addresses state and local priorities set forth by the California Department of Education (CDE). In addition, the LCAP must identify three years of annual goals for all students, as well as each district’s Unduplicated Pupil population (Socio-economically Disadvantaged, English learners, and foster youth).  The plan includes annual actions that district’s, county offices of education, and charter schools will take to accomplish their goals, including and itemization of their expenditures to support their actions.

To assist in your LCAP efforts, Dr. Bonnie Bell, a senior member of Kamm Solutions, works closely with educational organizations to offer a seamless process for gathering stakeholder input, writing the plan, implementing the actions, and monitoring this annual compliance document.  Furthermore, Kamm Solutions staff is skilled at aligning the LCAP so that it becomes an extension of your educational organization’s strategic goals and initiatives.

Format: To build an effective LEA accountability plan under ESSA requires many meetings and workshops with key district teams. For an overview of the this LEA planning process, the following options are available: seminars and customized learning opportunities designed to support and enhance current district/school programs and structures related to this topic.

Participants: PK-12 teachers, district and school administrators, parents, and community members.
