Description: Our world is changing rapidly and so must our system of educating children for the future. This highly interactive program engages teachers and administrators in lively dialogue about pivotal transformations in education as students become leaders of their own learning and educators become scholars and activators of student learning.
By examining key global shifts and innovative schools in action, educators will learn how to support their students in developing the following transversal competencies that will serve them well as they prepare for future careers and challenges:
- Thinking Dynamically – Curiosity, creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and problem solving
- Knowing Oneself (Intrapersonal) – Self-efficacy, initiative, resilience, mindfulness, growth mindset, and brain awareness
- Caring About Others (Interpersonal) – Intercultural understanding, openness, empathy, and compassion
- Engaging With Others (Interpersonal) – Collaboration, communication, social skills, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence
Educators leave this session with a clear understanding of the necessary shifts in teaching, leading, and learning (operationally and systemically); a rich array of the most recent resources on transversal competencies; and practical next steps to take immediately in their schools and classrooms to ensure deep implementation and sustainability.
